ChatGPT brand monitoring
Best ChatGPT visibility tools in 2026
Tracking ChatGPT is not the same as knowing whether it recommends you. This guide sorts the tools by the job, and covers which run competitor intelligence on the businesses named instead of you, with claims taken from each vendor's own pages on a stated date.

The short answer
Which tool should you choose?
First, the thing most people are really asking. There is no ChatGPT ranking. ChatGPT does not publish a list of results with your business at a numbered position. It writes an answer, names a few businesses inside it, and cites some sources. So a brand is present in that answer, positioned somewhere in the order the assistant chose, or absent altogether. Ask the identical question twice and the answer can differ, which is why every tool on this page reports rates, shares and positions over repeated checks rather than one rank.
For monitoring the brand in ChatGPT alongside other assistants, AnswerRank, AIclicks, Otterly AI, Peec AI and Scrunch AI are the AI-native trackers, all with published plans and prices. If ChatGPT tracking should sit beside your keywords and backlinks, Semrush and Ahrefs both name ChatGPT among the platforms they measure inside an SEO subscription.
If the question is narrower still, whether ChatGPT and the other leading assistants actually recommend your business when a customer is choosing one, GetRanked AI is built for that outcome and names ChatGPT among the assistants it measures. Everything below is dated and sourced from each vendor's own pages.

Measure the outcome before you choose a tool
ChatGPT visibility tools track how a brand appears in ChatGPT answers, usually alongside other assistants. Several of the products here do that well and publish clear pricing for it.
But ChatGPT is not one surface with one answer. What matters commercially is what it says when someone in your market asks who they should use, and whether your business is in that reply.
That is a specific reading and you can have it now. Run the free scan, see the recommendation outcome across the major assistants, and then decide what ongoing tracking is worth. Where GetRanked AI differs is the competitor intelligence: the GetRanked Algo names the businesses the assistants recommended in your place through Competitor Capture, builds a dossier on each with Competitor Radar, and prints the reason and sources with Decision Trace, all from the answers themselves rather than a list you supply. Staying ahead is the ongoing half: tracked competitors are re-read on the ongoing plans and Recommendation Delta measures which answers you gained and lost between two comparable readings, so you can see whether the gap to the businesses AI names is widening or closing. Those plans are listed on the pricing page and are not open for self-serve purchase yet.
The category
What ChatGPT visibility means, and what it does not
ChatGPT visibility describes how present a brand is inside the answers ChatGPT writes. The unit of measurement is the answer, not the page. A tool asks a question, reads what comes back, and records whether your name appeared, where it appeared relative to other businesses, how it was described, and which sources the assistant drew on.
The phrase people search for is "ChatGPT ranking", and it is worth being blunt about it. There is no ranking to check. There are three useful states instead: present, meaning the answer names you; positioned, meaning it names you somewhere in an order alongside others; and absent, meaning it names someone else or nobody. Because answers vary between identical questions, a single check tells you very little and a repeated check tells you a great deal.
That variation also explains the metrics you will see on the vendor pages. Mention rate is how often you appear across repeated checks. Share of voice compares your appearances against named competitors. Position or top position rate records where you land inside the answer. Citation or source tracking records the pages the answer leaned on, which is usually where the fixable work is.
How the answers are collected matters too, and several vendors say so on their pages. AnswerRank states it reads answers from the live AI interfaces rather than requesting them through APIs, AIclicks says prompts are sent through the platforms' actual user interfaces, and Scrunch AI says it collects actual responses from major AI platforms. Conductor takes the opposite line and states an API-first approach. Neither method is wrong; they can simply see different things.
- ChatGPT visibility
- How present a brand is inside the answers ChatGPT writes for a set of questions, measured over repeated checks.
- ChatGPT ranking
- Not a real thing. ChatGPT returns an answer, not a numbered list, so the useful states are present, positioned or absent.
- Mention rate
- How often a brand appears across repeated checks of the same questions.
- Citations
- The sources an assistant used or linked when writing an answer.
- AI Recommendation Intelligence
- Our term for measuring whether assistants recommend a specific business to its prospective customers, who they recommend instead, and what evidence was missing.
How we evaluated
What we looked at, and what we did not
We read each vendor's own website on the date shown at the top of this page and recorded what it advertises: what the product is for, which AI platforms it names, what it measures, who it says it is for, and whether prices are published. We gave no scores and we did not run paid trials of every product. Where a vendor's pages do not mention a capability, the table says "not publicly advertised", which is a statement about the pages we read, not about the product.
ChatGPT is only one of the assistants most of these tools cover, and coverage differs by plan. Where a vendor sells engines as add-ons, the comparison page linked from its row says so.
- Principal purposeWhat the product is built to do, in its own terms.
- Recommendation outcomeWhether it tells a business that AI recommends it, rather than counting mentions.
- Starts from your businessWhether you can begin with your website instead of building a prompt project.
- Recommendation GapWhether it shows the buying questions where a business could be named and is not.
- Competitor CaptureWhether it names the businesses the assistants recommend instead.
- Competitor discoveryWhether competitors surface from the answers, or must be known and added first.
- Evidence CoverageWhether it shows which sources shaped the answer and what was missing.
- What to do firstWhether it produces a prioritised list of things to change.
- Plain-English verdictWhether the output is a decision a business owner can act on, not only analytics.
- Try before committingWhether a business can learn something real before paying for a subscription.
- Traditional SEO suiteKeyword research, rank tracking, site audits, backlinks.
- Keyword researchA keyword database and research workflow.
- Backlink databaseA link index and link analysis.
- Content productionWriting, briefs and on-page optimisation.
- Technical auditingCrawling and technical site health.
- Multi-client dashboardsManaging many sites or clients in one place.
- Enterprise integrationsAPIs, warehouses and BI connectors.
- Prompt managementBuilding and maintaining a tracked prompt set at scale.
- Intended customerWho the vendor says the product is for.
- Public pricingWhether prices are published, so a buyer can size a plan before a sales call.

AnswerRank
AnswerRank tracks appearance, top position rate, trends, sentiment and sources for each prompt, and its own pages present it around how a brand shows up in ChatGPT. It captures the sub-queries an engine expands a prompt into and stores the web searches ChatGPT runs while composing an answer. Visibility Gap Detection pinpoints where a brand is missing, underrepresented or losing ground.
Fits: Smaller teams new to answer engine work, and agencies running many client projects who want a human expert scheduled alongside the dashboard.
Worth knowing: Prompts are produced by AnswerRank and then reviewed and selected by a human expert up to the plan limit, so the question set is not entirely yours. Pricing sits on the homepage; the pricing URL returned a 404 on the day checked.
AIclicks
AIclicks monitors prompts daily with a visibility score, citation position, sentiment and the full AI answer behind every data point, and states that prompts are sent through the platforms' actual user interfaces rather than APIs. Its FAQ names ChatGPT first among ten platforms. The Recommendations tab ranks content, source mention and community actions by expected impact.
Fits: Solo founders and small teams through to agencies, and businesses that want the follow-up work done for them by its agency service.
Worth knowing: The number of models you can track is set per plan, and the yearly prices behind the discount toggle were not captured, so only monthly figures are recorded on the comparison page.
Otterly AI
Otterly AI tracks mentions, share of voice, average rank, net sentiment and cited URLs daily for the prompts you choose. ChatGPT is one of four engines included on the entry plan. Citation tracking records every cited URL, whether it names you and which rival it names instead, and a GEO audit tests AI crawlers against robots.txt and the live server.
Fits: Marketing teams, agencies and content strategists who want daily tracking, ranked recommendations and open data access at a low entry price.
Worth knowing: The engine count differs between its pages, and Claude, Google AI Mode and Gemini are sold as paid add-on engines rather than included on the entry plan.
Peec AI
Peec AI is AI search analytics: prompts tracked daily for visibility, position, sentiment and share of voice across the active models and countries, with ChatGPT listed among the models on its brand plans. Source analytics reports which URLs and domains the engines access and cite, and ranks by Gap Score the sources that cite competitors but not you.
Fits: SEO and marketing teams that want daily competitor-benchmarked analytics, and agencies that want client workspaces without per-seat fees.
Worth knowing: Plans are metered on tracked prompts and models, with a choice of three models on the lower tiers and further models sold as add-ons. Prices were shown in euros when checked.
Scrunch AI
Scrunch AI collects actual responses from major AI platforms and reports share of answer, position, sentiment and citations, filtered by topic, persona, model and region. Its Agent Experience Platform intercepts AI retrieval bots at the CDN layer and serves them a simplified version of each page while ordinary search crawlers continue to see the normal site.
Fits: Marketing teams, agencies and enterprises that segment by persona and region, and teams that want control over what AI bots read.
Worth knowing: Its FAQ page and pricing page disagree on plan names and trial terms, so the pricing page was used, and engines are not listed as a per-plan limit on the pricing text checked.
Semrush
Semrush names ChatGPT among the AI platforms its AI Visibility toolkit tracks, reporting how often a brand is mentioned, cited and recommended, with prompt research from a large prompt database, sentiment and AI-cited media. An AI search health audit produces a prioritised checklist of technical fixes.
Fits: SEO teams, agencies and marketers who would rather add ChatGPT tracking to a subscription they already hold than buy a second product.
Worth knowing: Prompts come from the database or from you and are tracked up to a per-plan limit, so the picture is of the prompt set you assembled.
Ahrefs measures ChatGPT through Brand Radar, which reports mentions, citations, AI Share of Voice and estimated impressions, drawing on a very large search-backed prompt corpus as well as Custom Prompts you configure yourself. Bot Analytics shows AI crawlers visiting your site in real time.
Fits: Teams already inside Ahrefs who want ChatGPT visibility beside keywords, backlinks and site audits.
Worth knowing: Prompt checks are metered, with larger packages and a Brand Radar AI add-on priced separately, and one check covers one prompt on one platform in one location.
GetRanked AI
GetRanked AI is AI Recommendation Intelligence: one clear verdict per business, across as many websites as you run. It measures how leading AI assistants respond when prospective customers are looking for a business like yours, with ChatGPT named among the assistants on the pricing page, then reports an AI Trust Score, the Recommendation Gap, Competitor Capture and Evidence Coverage with a prioritised list of fixes.
Fits: Owners and marketing leads who want a verdict on the recommendation moment rather than a dashboard of prompts they have to maintain.
Worth knowing: It reports on one business per scan and does no keyword research, rank tracking or backlink analysis. Ongoing monthly plans are listed on the pricing page but are not yet open for self-serve purchase.
The buying question
Which of these is built around the recommendation outcome?
Read from each vendor's own pages on the date shown on its comparison page. "Not publicly advertised" means the pages we read do not mention it, not that the capability is absent.

Broader does not mean better for every job. Several of these platforms are far wider than GetRanked AI, and where they are, this table says so plainly. GetRanked AI deliberately does not recreate an SEO suite: it specialises in the measurement above.

Which fits which buyer
Match the tool to the situation
Someone who just wants to know if ChatGPT names them
Run the free scan. It answers the presence question for your own business, names who was recommended instead, and shows what the assistants could and could not find about you, with no prompt list to build.
A small team that wants ongoing tracking cheaply
Both publish low entry prices with a free trial. Otterly AI's entry plan names ChatGPT among its included engines and leans towards citation detail and audits. AnswerRank pairs the tracking with a human AI search expert on its higher plans.
That covers the tracking. The free scan tells you what ChatGPT and the others say when a buyer asks who to use.
An SEO team that already pays for a suite
Add ChatGPT tracking to the subscription rather than buying a second product. Both name ChatGPT among the platforms they measure and print the prompt or check allowance on the plan.
Run the free scan first, then decide what ongoing ChatGPT tracking is worth paying for.
A marketing team reporting to stakeholders
Both are built for repeated tracking with competitor benchmarking, exports and workspaces, and Scrunch AI adds persona and region segmentation if your go-to-market is split that way.
Pair it with a GetRanked AI report when you want the names of the businesses recommended instead of you.
A business that wants the work done, not just measured
AIclicks ranks actions by expected impact and offers agents plus a separate done-for-you agency service. AnswerRank schedules sessions with a human AI search expert on its higher plans.
That covers the tracking. The free scan tells you what ChatGPT and the others say when a buyer asks who to use.
Where GetRanked AI differs
Built for the moment a customer asks AI
AI Recommendation Intelligence is our term for measuring whether the assistants recommend one business when its customers are looking for one.
A recommendation question, not a mention count
Most trackers count how often you appear across prompts you chose. GetRanked AI asks whether the assistants recommend your business when your customers are looking for one, and reports the Recommendation Gap where they should and do not.
Competitor Capture is discovered, not configured
You do not type in your rivals before you start. The report names the businesses the assistants recommend instead of you, which is often not the list you expected.
Evidence Coverage explains the why
The report shows what the assistants could and could not find about your business, so the fixes are about the evidence behind the answer rather than about a prompt that underperformed.

Questions
Questions buyers ask about this category
Is there a ChatGPT ranking I can check?
No. ChatGPT does not return a ranked list of results, so there is no position to look up. It writes an answer and names businesses inside it, which means your brand is present, positioned somewhere in the order it chose, or absent. Because the same question can produce different answers, the honest measurement is a rate across repeated checks rather than a rank.
How do I track my brand in ChatGPT?
Pick a set of questions your customers would actually ask, then use a tool that runs them repeatedly and records what comes back. AnswerRank, AIclicks, Otterly AI, Peec AI and Scrunch AI all do this on published plans, and Semrush and Ahrefs do it inside an SEO subscription. GetRanked AI takes a different route and starts from your business rather than from a question list you maintain.
Why does ChatGPT give a different answer every time?
Because a model composes an answer rather than looking one up, and several of these tools note that the live interfaces personalise and retrieve from the web while composing. That is why one check proves nothing and a repeated check tells you something. Treat any single screenshot, including a good one, as an anecdote.
Can I just ask ChatGPT myself?
You can, and it is a reasonable first look, but it is a sample of one from your own account. A tool exists to repeat the question, vary it, compare you against other businesses named in the same answers, and record which sources the answer drew on. That is the part you cannot do by hand at any useful scale.
Do these tools only cover ChatGPT?
Almost none of them do. Most name several assistants and sell coverage by plan, and some sell extra engines as add-ons, so check the plan rather than the homepage. AnswerRank's own pages frame the product around ChatGPT. Each comparison page linked from this guide records the engines that vendor's pages named on the date shown.
Does any tool guarantee ChatGPT will recommend my business?
No. Nobody can guarantee what a model will say. These products measure and report; earning the recommendation is still your work, and any vendor promising otherwise is overselling.
How did you evaluate the tools?
We read each vendor's own pages on the date at the top of this guide and recorded what they advertise against nine buyer-relevant criteria. We gave no scores and we did not run paid trials of every product. Where a page does not mention something, the table says not publicly advertised, which describes the pages we read rather than the product.
Why is GetRanked AI in its own comparison?
Because we own this site and you should know that before reading further. GetRanked AI sits in the table under exactly the same criteria as everyone else, and every comparison page linked from this guide carries its sources so you can check us.
How current is this guide?
The vendor pages were read on the date shown at the top of this page. Plans, prices and engine coverage in this category change quickly, so confirm on the vendor's own site before buying.

Sources and trust
Every third-party claim on this page comes from the vendor's own website, read on the date shown, and is repeated with its sources on the linked comparison page. No vendor has paid for a place here and no vendor has been scored. GetRanked AI's own method is set out on the methodology page.
Vendor sources for every product on this page are listed on its comparison page: AnswerRank, AIclicks, Otterly AI, Peec AI, Scrunch AI, Semrush, Ahrefs.
What this guide deliberately leaves out
- Any ranking or score across the tools: they do different jobs, and a page about ChatGPT visibility would be a poor place to invent a ranking after explaining that ChatGPT has none.
- Exact engine lists per plan: several vendors name different sets on different pages and sell extra engines as add-ons, so each comparison page records what that page said instead of one tidy list.
- Collection frequency as a comparison point: the vendors describe their checking cadence in different terms and some of it is operational detail that may change.
- Customer counts, review ratings and promotional improvement claims printed on vendor sites, including one vendor's line about brands seeing improvements within weeks.
- Profound, Conductor, BrightEdge and the SEO suites beyond Semrush and Ahrefs: they cover ChatGPT too but are covered on their own comparison pages, to keep this page to the tools a buyer shortlists for ChatGPT specifically.
