AI visibility software

Best AI visibility tools in 2026

There is no single best tool, because these products do different jobs. This guide sorts them by the job, and covers which of them run competitor intelligence on the rivals AI names instead of you, with prices and claims taken from each vendor's own pages on a stated date.

A positioning field with two axes. Across, what a tool measures, from presence to recommendation. Down, who it is built for, from a programme to a single business. SEO suites, traffic tools, AI analytics, enterprise platforms and trackers are placed across it, and GetRanked AI sits alone in the corner for recommendation and one business.
Illustrative placement, from what each vendor's own pages say the product is for. Not a score, and not a ranking.

The short answer

Which tool should you choose?

If you want to know whether ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity or Google's AI answers recommend your business to a buyer, and what to fix first, GetRanked AI is built for that one outcome. If you run SEO campaigns and want AI visibility tracked beside rankings, Semrush or Ahrefs add it to a platform you may already pay for. If you are a marketing team tracking hundreds of prompts across engines, regions and personas, Profound, Peec AI and Scrunch AI are analytics platforms built for that scale.

Enterprise teams that need governance, integrations and revenue tie-in look at Conductor, BrightEdge and AthenaHQ. Small teams that want daily prompt tracking at a low entry price look at Otterly AI, AnswerRank and AIclicks. Everything below is dated and sourced, and nothing is ranked with a score we made up.

Measure the outcome before you choose a tool

AI visibility tools do genuinely different jobs. Some track how often a brand is mentioned across a prompt set. Some add AI data to an SEO suite you already pay for. Some run programme-scale analytics for enterprise teams. Some are lightweight daily monitors.

None of that answers the question most people arrive with. Being mentioned in an answer is not the same as being the business the assistant puts forward when a buyer asks who to use.

So the honest recommendation is not a product. It is an order of operations: measure the recommendation outcome for your own business first, then decide which of these tools you actually need. That measurement is what GetRanked AI is built to produce, and the free scan gives it to you before you commit to anything. Where GetRanked AI differs is the competitor intelligence: the GetRanked Algo names the businesses the assistants recommended in your place through Competitor Capture, builds a dossier on each with Competitor Radar, and prints the reason and sources with Decision Trace, all from the answers themselves rather than a list you supply. Staying ahead is the ongoing half: tracked competitors are re-read on the ongoing plans and Recommendation Delta measures which answers you gained and lost between two comparable readings, so you can see whether the gap to the businesses AI names is widening or closing. Those plans are listed on the pricing page and are not open for self-serve purchase yet.

What an AI visibility tool actually measures

Search visibility used to mean one thing: where a page ranked for a keyword. AI visibility means something looser, because an assistant does not return ten blue links. It writes an answer, and a brand is either in that answer, cited by it, recommended in it, or absent. Different tools measure different slices of that.

Mention tracking counts how often a brand appears in answers to a set of prompts. Share of voice compares those counts against competitors. Citation analysis looks at which sources the assistant drew on. Sentiment reads how the brand is described. Recommendation intelligence asks a narrower question: when a customer is choosing, does the assistant name this business, and if not, who does it name and why?

Most products on this page combine several of those slices. The right one for you depends on whether you are managing a marketing programme across many prompts, or trying to win the moment one buyer asks for a recommendation.

AI visibility
How present a brand is across the answers AI assistants give, usually measured over a set of tracked prompts.
Share of voice
A brand's share of mentions in AI answers compared with named competitors.
Citations
The sources an assistant used or linked when writing an answer.
AI Recommendation Intelligence
GetRanked AI's term for measuring whether assistants recommend a specific business to its prospective customers, who they recommend instead, and what evidence was missing.

How we evaluated

What we looked at, and what we did not

We read each vendor's own website on the date shown and recorded what it advertises: purpose, AI platforms named, what it measures, who it says it is for, and its published prices. We did not run paid trials of every product, and we do not award scores. Where a vendor's pages do not mention a capability, the table says "not publicly advertised", which is not a claim that the capability is missing.

GetRanked AI appears in the table under the same criteria. We own this site; the comparison pages linked from every row carry the sources so you can check us.

  • Principal purposeWhat the product is built to do, in its own terms.
  • Recommendation outcomeWhether it tells a business that AI recommends it, rather than counting mentions.
  • Starts from your businessWhether you can begin with your website instead of building a prompt project.
  • Recommendation GapWhether it shows the buying questions where a business could be named and is not.
  • Competitor CaptureWhether it names the businesses the assistants recommend instead.
  • Competitor discoveryWhether competitors surface from the answers, or must be known and added first.
  • Evidence CoverageWhether it shows which sources shaped the answer and what was missing.
  • What to do firstWhether it produces a prioritised list of things to change.
  • Plain-English verdictWhether the output is a decision a business owner can act on, not only analytics.
  • Try before committingWhether a business can learn something real before paying for a subscription.
  • Traditional SEO suiteKeyword research, rank tracking, site audits, backlinks.
  • Keyword researchA keyword database and research workflow.
  • Backlink databaseA link index and link analysis.
  • Content productionWriting, briefs and on-page optimisation.
  • Technical auditingCrawling and technical site health.
  • Multi-client dashboardsManaging many sites or clients in one place.
  • Enterprise integrationsAPIs, warehouses and BI connectors.
  • Prompt managementBuilding and maintaining a tracked prompt set at scale.
  • Intended customerWho the vendor says the product is for.
  • Public pricingWhether prices are published, so a buyer can size a plan before a sales call.

GetRanked AI

AI Recommendation Intelligence

See pricing

GetRanked AI is AI Recommendation Intelligence: one clear verdict per business, across as many websites as you run. Enter a website and it measures how leading AI assistants respond when prospective customers are looking for a business like yours, then reports an AI Trust Score, the Recommendation Gap, Competitor Capture and Evidence Coverage with a prioritised list of fixes.

Fits: Business owners and marketing leads who want a plain-English answer rather than a dashboard, and who do not want to curate prompts or name competitors in advance.

Worth knowing: It is not an SEO suite: no keyword research, rank tracking or backlink index. Ongoing plans are listed on the pricing page but are not yet open for self-serve purchase.

Semrush

SEO platformRead 4 September 2026

Full comparison and sources

Semrush is a full SEO platform with an AI Visibility toolkit. It tracks how often a brand is mentioned, cited and recommended across AI platforms, adds prompt research from a large prompt database, sentiment, cited media and an AI search health audit.

Fits: SEO teams, agencies and marketers who want search and AI visibility reported from one place, with public per-plan limits and a seven-day trial.

Worth knowing: Prompts are chosen from a database or entered by the user, so the view is of a prompt set rather than of one business's buyers. Whether a standalone AI-only plan exists could not be verified.

Ahrefs

SEO platformRead 4 September 2026

Full comparison and sources

Ahrefs pairs its SEO data platform with Brand Radar, which measures mentions, citations and AI Share of Voice across AI platforms, plus Custom Prompts with a checking cadence per platform.

Fits: Teams that already work in Ahrefs and want AI visibility beside keywords, backlinks and site audits.

Worth knowing: Prices were shown in pounds to a UK visitor and other pages showed other currencies; Brand Radar AI is an add-on with its own price.

Profound

AI visibility trackerRead 4 September 2026

Full comparison and sources

Profound is an answer engine optimisation platform with marketing agents built on top. It tracks brand presence across many engines, regions and languages and hands findings to briefs and content agents.

Fits: Marketing and AEO teams running a programme across engines and markets, with yearly-billed plans and an enterprise tier.

Worth knowing: Month-to-month prices and trial terms were not visible in the pages read.

Peec AI

AI visibility trackerRead 4 September 2026

Full comparison and sources

Peec AI is AI search analytics: prompts tracked daily against named competitors, visibility, position and share of voice, source and citation analytics, shopping data and exports into a team's own reporting.

Fits: SEO and marketing teams that want daily analytics and agencies that want client workspaces.

Worth knowing: Plans were displayed in euros; per-plan country, language and competitor limits could not be read reliably.

Scrunch AI

AI visibility trackerRead 4 September 2026

Full comparison and sources

Scrunch AI tracks share of answer, position and citations across AI search, filtered by persona, model and region, and can serve AI bots a cleaned version of a website's pages.

Fits: Marketing teams tracking hundreds of prompts who also want to change what AI crawlers see.

Worth knowing: Its FAQ page and pricing page disagreed on plan names, so the pricing page was used.

Conductor

Enterprise SEO platformRead 4 September 2026

Full comparison and sources

Conductor is an enterprise platform that measures AI and search visibility and connects it to revenue, with site monitoring, integrations and AI Search Credits across its tiers.

Fits: Enterprise teams that need governance, integrations and one contract.

Worth knowing: Pricing is by enquiry, and what one AI Search Credit buys is not defined on the pages read.

Otterly AI

AI visibility trackerRead 4 September 2026

Full comparison and sources

Otterly AI tracks brand mentions, share of voice, rank, sentiment and cited URLs daily for the prompts you choose, audits pages and queues recommendations per engine, with API and MCP access.

Fits: Small teams and agencies that want daily tracking at a low entry price.

Worth knowing: Enterprise pricing is a starting figure with a custom quote, and per-engine add-on prices were only captured as a range.

The buying question

Which of these is built around the recommendation outcome?

Read from each vendor's own pages on the date shown on its comparison page. "Not publicly advertised" means the pages we read do not mention it, not that the capability is absent.

Broader platform capabilities

Broader does not mean better for every job. Several of these platforms are far wider than GetRanked AI, and where they are, this table says so plainly. GetRanked AI deliberately does not recreate an SEO suite: it specialises in the measurement above.

Which fits which buyer

Match the tool to the situation

GetRanked AI

A business owner who wants one clear answer

Run the free scan, then the Professional AI Report if the answer matters. You get whether the assistants recommend you, who they name instead, and what to fix, without a platform to learn.

Semrush or Ahrefs

An SEO team adding AI to existing reporting

Semrush and Ahrefs both add AI mentions, citations and share of voice beside keywords and backlinks, with published plan limits. If your reporting already lives in one of them, adding the AI line is cheaper than a second platform.

Whichever you pick, it will report visibility across a set you configure. Run the free scan first so you know what the recommendation outcome actually is.

Profound or Peec AI or Scrunch AI

A marketing team running an AI visibility programme

These are analytics platforms for tracked prompt sets across engines, regions and personas, with exports and agency workspaces.

That is the tracking sorted. The recommendation verdict for your own business is a separate reading, and it is free.

Conductor or AthenaHQ

An enterprise that needs one contract and integrations

Governance, workflows and integrations matter more than a low entry price here. Both are priced by enquiry or with an enterprise tier.

Pair it with a GetRanked AI report when you want to know why an answer named a rival rather than you.

Otterly AI or AIclicks

A small team that wants daily tracking cheaply

Both publish low entry prices for daily prompt tracking. Pair one with a GetRanked AI report when you want to know why an answer names a rival.

Whichever you pick, it will report visibility across a set you configure. Run the free scan first so you know what the recommendation outcome actually is.

Where GetRanked AI differs

Built for the moment a customer asks AI

AI Recommendation Intelligence is our term for measuring whether the assistants recommend one business when its customers are looking for one.

An outcome, not a dashboard

Most tools report visibility across prompts a team chose. GetRanked AI reports whether the assistants recommend your business when your customers are looking for one, and stops there.

Competitor Capture is discovered, not configured

You do not name competitors in advance. The report names the businesses the assistants recommend instead of you.

Evidence Coverage explains the why

The report shows what the assistants could and could not find about your business, so the fixes are about the evidence behind the answer.

Questions

Questions buyers ask about this category

What is the best AI visibility tool?

It depends on the job. For a plain answer on whether AI assistants recommend your business, GetRanked AI. For SEO plus AI in one subscription, Semrush or Ahrefs. For prompt analytics at scale, Profound, Peec AI or Scrunch AI. For enterprise governance, Conductor, BrightEdge or AthenaHQ. This page sorts the tools by those jobs rather than ranking them.

Is AI visibility the same as SEO?

No. SEO measures and improves where pages rank in search results. AI visibility measures whether and how a brand appears inside the answers AI assistants write. Some SEO platforms now include AI visibility; GetRanked AI measures only the AI side.

Which AI platforms do these tools cover?

It varies by vendor and plan. Semrush names ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, Perplexity and Gemini on its pages. Others name different sets, and several sell extra engines as add-ons. Each comparison page linked from this guide lists what that vendor's pages state.

Do any of these tools guarantee AI will recommend my business?

No. Nobody can guarantee what a model will say. Every tool here measures and reports; the work of earning the recommendation is still yours.

How did you evaluate the tools?

We read each vendor's own pages on the date at the top of this guide and recorded what they advertise against nine buyer-relevant criteria. We did not award scores and we did not run paid trials of every product. Where a page does not mention something, the table says not publicly advertised.

Why is GetRanked AI in its own list?

Because we own this site and you should know that. GetRanked AI sits in the table under the same criteria as everyone else, and every comparison page linked here carries the sources so you can check the claims.

Can I use GetRanked AI with one of the other tools?

Yes, and it is a common pairing. Keep a tracker or an SEO suite for the programme, and use GetRanked AI to check the recommendation moment for your own business and to see who captured it.

How current is this guide?

The vendor pages were read on the date shown at the top. Plans and prices change; confirm on the vendor's site before buying.

Sources and trust

Every third-party claim on this page comes from the vendor's own website, read on the date shown, and is repeated with its sources on the linked comparison page. Nothing here is a paid placement, and no vendor has been scored. GetRanked AI's own method is described on the methodology page.

Vendor sources for every product on this page are listed on its comparison page: Semrush, Ahrefs, Profound, Peec AI, Scrunch AI, Conductor, Otterly AI.

What this guide deliberately leaves out
  • Any ranking or score across vendors: the products do different jobs and we did not test them all under one protocol.
  • Engine coverage per plan for most vendors: the pages read name engines unevenly and several sell engines as add-ons.
  • Customer counts, ratings and award claims printed on vendor sites.
  • BrightEdge and Writesonic detail beyond their comparison pages: both are covered there rather than here to keep this page to the tools most buyers shortlist for AI visibility.
