Comparison
Ahrefs vs GetRanked AI
One is a data platform for search and AI visibility. The other tells you whether AI recommends your business and runs competitor intelligence on the rivals taking your answers, across as many client websites as you run.

The thirty-second verdict
Ahrefs or GetRanked AI?
Ahrefs has one of the strongest link and keyword datasets anywhere, and Brand Radar extends it into AI answers. It compares you with the brands you configure. GetRanked AI answers the question underneath: does an assistant recommend your business when a buyer is choosing, and which rivals took the answers it did not give you? Competitor intelligence is built into it and the GetRanked Algo produces all of it from the answers themselves: Competitor Capture names the businesses recommended in your place, Competitor Radar builds a dossier on each one covering what they appear to do better and how you compete, and Decision Trace prints the reason each assistant gave with the sources it leaned on. You never list a rival first, which is why the ones you were not already watching are the ones it finds. It runs per website with no cap on how many, and team and agency plans carry multiple client sites and seats, so a portfolio is not a reason to choose between them.
Where Ahrefs is stronger
Ahrefs has one of the strongest link and keyword datasets in the industry, and Brand Radar extends that data into AI answers.
That depth is what you want for technical SEO, competitive link analysis and serious keyword research.
Where GetRanked AI is different
It reports visibility across the prompts you configure. GetRanked AI reports the recommendation outcome for your business without you designing a tracking project first.
It also names the businesses the assistants recommended instead, with the reason each one gave and the sources behind it, and it does that across as many websites as you run.
Ahrefs tells you how visible your brand is across AI answers and search. GetRanked AI tells you whether a buyer asking AI gets your name or a competitor's.
If you already pay for it
Already use Ahrefs? Don't replace it.
Keep Ahrefs for the search data. Add GetRanked AI when the question is whether the assistants recommend you, not how often your brand surfaces across a prompt set.
Two different measurements
Search visibility and AI recommendation visibility are not the same reading. A business can climb the rankings and still not be the name an assistant gives a buyer who asks who to use.
Measure first, then decide
You do not have to choose a platform today. Run the free scan, see whether the assistants recommend your business, and let that decide what else you actually need.
The half most tools leave to you
It also tells you who is taking the answers
Every product on this page can report on competitors you name. Ahrefs included. The difference is where the list comes from: GetRanked AI reads the businesses the assistants actually put forward for your buyers' questions, so the rivals you were not already watching are the ones it finds.
Competitor Capture
The businesses the assistants recommended in your place, question by question. You do not name them in advance, which is how the unfamiliar ones surface.
Competitor Radar
A dossier on each rival the assistants put forward: what they appear to do better, and how you compete with them.
Decision Trace
The reason each assistant gave, in its own words, for recommending whoever it recommended.
Source Authority Map
Which sources the assistants cited, how often, whom those sources favour, and whether your business appears in them at all.
Recommendation Delta
Staying ahead is the ongoing half. Tracked competitors are re-read on the ongoing plans, and Recommendation Delta measures which answers you gained and which you lost between two comparable readings, so you can see whether the gap to the businesses AI names is widening or closing rather than guessing at it.
The first four are in the Professional AI Report, produced by the GetRanked Algo from the answers themselves. Recommendation Delta needs two comparable readings, so it belongs to the ongoing plans, which are listed on the pricing page and are not open for self-serve purchase yet. None of it is surveillance of a rival’s website: there are no alerts when a competitor edits a page, no advertising or social listening, and each plan covers a set number of tracked competitors.
Different jobs
Two tools, two questions
Ahrefs is built to keep a business discoverable in search and AI by measuring visibility against a very large index of prompts and pages. GetRanked AI answers one question: when a customer asks an AI assistant, does it recommend you?
How Ahrefs works
- Search any brand, product or category in the AI Visibility Index with no setup, including historical responses back to 2025
- Configure Custom Prompts for the questions your buyers ask and choose a checking cadence per AI platform, from monthly to daily
- Read Mentions, Citations, AI Share of Voice and Estimated Impressions, with prompts mapped back to search demand and topics
- Review YouTube, TikTok and Reddit sources and AI crawler activity that influence the answers
How GetRanked AI works
- Enter your website. That is the whole set-up.
- Leading AI assistants are measured on the moments prospective customers look for a business like yours.
- You see your AI Trust Score, the Recommendation Gap and who captured the answer.
- You get a prioritised list of fixes in plain English.
The buying question
Which one is built around the AI recommendation outcome?
Every row below is part of one question: when a prospective customer asks an assistant who to choose, does the product tell you what happened to your business? Read against the Ahrefs pages listed at the foot of this page.

Everything else
Broader platform capabilities
This is where Ahrefs is broader, shown in full. Broader does not mean better for every job: GetRanked AI deliberately does not recreate an SEO suite, because the recommendation outcome above is a different measurement and it is the one it is built to produce.
| Capability | Ahrefs | GetRanked AI |
|---|---|---|
| Traditional SEO suite | YesProjects, tracked keywords, API access and a content kit are listed on every paid plan. | Different focusNot an SEO suite. It measures the recommendation, not the ranking. |
| Keyword research | YesThe Starter plan is described as letting you see what people search and spy on competitors. | Different focusNo keyword tool. Coverage starts from your business, not a term you enter. |
| Backlink database | YesThe pricing page lists Site Explorer backlink features and a Backlink Checker tool. | Different focusNo backlink index. Evidence Coverage reports what the assistants actually reached instead. |
| Content production and optimisation | YesContent tooling is part of the suite. | Different focusIt does not write or optimise pages. It tells you which buying questions a page would need to win. |
| Technical site auditing | YesSite auditing and technical crawling are core to the platform. | Different focusNo crawler or site audit. Reachability appears only where it affected an answer. |
| Multi-client and multi-site dashboards | YesMulti-site and client reporting are advertised. | YesMultiple client websites and seats sit on one account, ten of each on Professional and unlimited on Enterprise, and a report can be run per client site with no cap on how many. |
| Enterprise integrations | PartialIntegrations and APIs are available on higher plans. | Different focusNo data warehouse or BI connectors. The report is the deliverable. |
| Large-scale prompt management | PartialPrompts are tracked against a per-plan limit. | Different focusNothing to build or maintain. Coverage is derived from your business and what it sells. |
A missing public fact is written as “not publicly advertised”, never as a “no”. Where a product does something well, this table says so.
Where Ahrefs is strong
What Ahrefs does well
A fair comparison starts with the other side. These are taken from Ahrefs's own pages.
Two ways to measure AI visibility
The Brand Radar page describes a pre-collected AI Visibility Index that needs no setup, and Custom Prompts that you configure yourself and refresh as often as daily.
A very large, search-backed prompt corpus
Ahrefs states that Brand Radar runs more than 464 million search-backed prompts through AI platforms and stores every response, with per-platform counts published.
A broad list of AI platforms
The Brand Radar page names AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot, with Claude available through Custom Prompts.
Usage-based prompt pricing with published overage rates
Prompt checks are sold in packages with the check count and the per-check overage rate printed on the pricing page.
AI traffic and crawler analytics
Web Analytics shows the pages AI search already sends traffic to, and Bot Analytics shows AI crawlers in real time, alongside the visibility tracking.
Where GetRanked AI differs
Built for the moment a buyer asks AI
AI Recommendation Intelligence: not how visible a brand is, but whether the assistant recommends your business when it matters.
Built around one business, not a prompt corpus
GetRanked AI starts from your business and measures how leading AI assistants respond when prospective customers are looking for what you sell. There are no prompts to configure and no index to search.
An answer, not a dataset
Instead of a corpus to explore, you get an AI Trust Score and a plain-English verdict on whether the assistants recommend you, written for the owner rather than the analyst.
Competitor Capture is discovered for you
The report names the businesses the assistants recommend instead of you. You do not have to pick competitors to benchmark before you see who is taking the answer.
Evidence Coverage shows what was missing
The report shows what the assistants could and could not find about your business, so the fixes are about the evidence behind the answer, not only about citations and crawlers.
Free first, then one report
You can see your first result without a subscription and buy the full report once. Ahrefs sells subscription tiers with add-on packages.
The signature moment
What happens when a customer asks AI?
This is the Recommendation Surface: the short list an assistant gives a buyer who is ready to choose. It is where the two products look at the same moment through different lenses.

- ?Your business
Illustrative. The businesses are invented and real answers vary by assistant, place and day.
Through Ahrefs
Ahrefs can track this question as a Custom Prompt and report how often your brand is mentioned or cited across the platforms you choose.
Through GetRanked AI
For a question like this, GetRanked AI reports whether the answer names your firm, which solicitors captured it instead, and what evidence about your practice the assistant could not find.
Nobody can guarantee what a model will say. What you can do is find out what it says today, see who it names instead of you, and fix the evidence behind the answer.
Who should use which
Match the tool to the job
A business deciding what to fix first
GetRanked AI. Ahrefs will show you an enormous amount of what is true about your site. Action Priority does the ranking: it orders the work by what would move the recommendation itself, so a short list of fixes comes back rather than a backlog to triage.
A business that does not know who its AI competitors are
GetRanked AI. Every other product here reports on rivals you name first, so the ones you are not already watching stay invisible. Competitor Capture reads who the assistants actually put forward, Competitor Radar profiles each, and Decision Trace prints why.
A local business owner with no SEO background
GetRanked AI. One scan, one score and a list of fixes in plain English, with no prompts to set up.
A founder checking a new service line
GetRanked AI. Check whether AI recommends you for the new service, and who it names instead, before the campaign budget goes out.
An SEO team tracking thousands of keywords
Ahrefs. Projects, tracked keywords and API access are the core of every paid plan.
Ahrefs will show the search data. The recommendation outcome is a separate reading, and the free scan gives it to you.
A brand researching a whole category in AI answers
Ahrefs. The AI Visibility Index is described as searchable for any brand, product or category without setup.
Ahrefs will show the search data. The recommendation outcome is a separate reading, and the free scan gives it to you.

Questions
Ahrefs vs GetRanked AI, answered
Is GetRanked AI a replacement for Ahrefs?
No. Ahrefs is an SEO and data platform and GetRanked AI does not do keyword research, rank tracking or backlink analysis. GetRanked AI answers one question that Ahrefs treats as one product among many: whether AI assistants recommend your business to buyers.
Does Ahrefs track AI answers?
Yes. Its Brand Radar product tracks brand mentions, citations, AI Share of Voice and estimated impressions across AI platforms, using a pre-collected index and Custom Prompts, according to its feature page.
Which AI platforms does each cover?
Ahrefs names AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot for Brand Radar, with Claude available through Custom Prompts. GetRanked AI lists the assistants it asks on its homepage and in every report.
Which is cheaper?
GetRanked AI offers a free scan and a one-off report; Ahrefs sells monthly subscription tiers plus add-on packages for AI prompt checks. Whether that is cheaper depends on how long you would keep an Ahrefs plan and what else you would use it for.
Do I need to set up prompts before I get anything?
With GetRanked AI, no. The scan starts from your business and the moments customers look for one like it. With Ahrefs, the AI Visibility Index needs no setup, but tracking your own questions means configuring Custom Prompts, after which data accumulates from that point.
Do I need to know my competitors before I start?
With GetRanked AI, no. The report names the businesses AI recommends instead of you. With Ahrefs, Brand Radar benchmarks your brand against the competitors you choose, and the index can be searched by category.
Does either tool guarantee AI will recommend me?
No. Nobody can guarantee what a model will say. Ahrefs tracks how often you are mentioned or cited and GetRanked AI reports whether the assistants recommend you; neither can make an assistant name your business, and the work of earning that is still yours.
Can I use both?
Yes, and it is a sensible pairing. Ahrefs covers the search work and large-scale AI visibility data. GetRanked AI gives a clear, owner-level read on the AI recommendation moment for your own business.
How current is this comparison?
The Ahrefs pages were read on the date shown at the top of this page and the pricing was checked in the month shown. Plans and prices change; check Ahrefs directly before buying.
